Frequently Asked Questions
Please contact us anytime with any questions you have on our Contact page or email us at info@studioglassco.com
How long does it take to ship my order?
Most of our items are made to order and we generally need 7 to 14 days to ship. If your order falls outside that time we will contact you. If you are interested in expedited shipping, please Contact us and we can usually work something out.
Can I request a custom color or design?
Absolutely! It is very easy to change the colors in a design and can usually be done at no extra charge. We can also work together to make test samples, although there will be a small charge to do so.
Our process lends itself greatly to making easily reproducible custom designs, in fact a good percentage of the work we do is custom. Check out our Custom Projects page to see what amazing things can be done with our glass making process. If you have an idea, or a particular need for some art glass visit our Contact page and we’ll get your project rolling!
What happens if I change my mind after I place an order?
Our return policy is very simple, if you don’t like your order, or there’s something wrong with it, or it just doesn’t work with the room like you thought it would, you can always return it for a complete refund or exchange for another. If you want to cancel an order before we ship it, simply Contact us and we’ll issue you a refund. If the product is defect free and you decided that you changed your mind about the product, we ask that you cover return shipping costs. If you receive a defective product, we will replace it for free.
That being said, all our products are handmade in our studio and may contain some slight variations or other marks of a handmade object. If you believe your piece is defective, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll make sure you are taken care of. Our goal is to make sure you’re happy with your purchase!
What size bulbs do these lights use?
Right now all our lights that use sockets use the standard E26 lightbulb, the kind everyone uses in everyday lighting. Although we are starting to play around with LED engines and other types of bulbs in some new designs, we’ll always specify when that happens. Otherwise, it’s E26 bulbs, but we do recommend that you use LED or compact fluorescent bulbs to prevent excessive heat.
Are these lights UL certified?
The actual electrical components we use to assemble our fixtures are all UL certified. UL certified assembled fixtures they are generally available for an additional charge. Please Contact us for details.
My glass was broken in shipping, what do I do?
We work hard to pack every order so that it arrives safely while also minimizing plastic packaging. Nearly every order arrives safe and sound but it is glass, so things do happen, that’s why every shipment is insured for damage or loss. If your order arrives damaged, please email us photos of each side of the box, the packaging, and the damaged product. We’ll submit a claim with the insurer and begin making your replacement right away. Replacement pieces are always put in the front of the production queue.
Can these lights be used outside?
None of the electrical components in our lights are designed for wet conditions. But if you have a fixture rated for outdoor use, our glass shades will work just fine!
If I order just the glass ceiling light, do I still get the decorative hardware?
You bet! If you choose the Glass Only option for a ceiling light, the decorative check ring and finial cap is included.
