The Amandine ceiling light uses six different glass colors to create this beautiful image. It seems like people are done with the sterility of the all white apartment and are looking for lots of vibrant color for their homes. With the Amandine design as well as my Big Wave design, they’re fast becoming best sellers!
The Custom Awards are Still Blowing Up!
CommentHere’s photos of another custom made retirement award, I am absolutely loving how these are turning out! The client on this one wanted 34 stars for the 34 years its recipient worked for the university.
Another Award Commission!
commissioned awardCommentMore commissioned awards! This is actually a redux from 2021, it was great to be able to make some color changes on this his complex design, I think it worked out really well! It’s so rare to have the opportunity to make a big project a second time. I got to change up the color pallet to make a more unified composition, and I also played around with some metallic effects with steel blue on some of the buildings, and really amped up the use of gold purple in the middle ground, it’s such a gorgeous color! I also offset the black text up top from the masked off text portion to create a floating effect.
It's Award Season and the Orders are Pouring In!
commissioned awardCommentHere’s some photos of a new award commission from the University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for International Studies’ International Achievement Award. Since the award recipient will have to bring it back with them to their home country, it had to be easily packed into a carry on bag. I think we came up with an elegant solution for this requirement. The 9” glass disk slips into the groove in the walnut base and stands up. When it’s time to travel, the glass comes out of the base and both are easily packed into the awardee’s bag.
I also got to play with Bullseye Glass’s new reactive cloud glass for this project and got some really cool color reactions, resulting in a neat outer space effect. I also got to use Rayzist photo sensitive sandblasting resist for the first time too!
